Cheating Empty
PostSubject: Cheating   Cheating EmptySat Mar 21, 2009 3:48 am

This is way random, but I was curious what others thought about this.

If somebody is caught cheating on a test should he/she still be allowed to be valedictorian or saludatorian?

Personally, I think that they shouldn't b/c cheating is not right at all and should not be tolerated.

Once you catch them cheating, then you would automatically have to question how they became valedictorian in the first place. It kinda puts the entire accomplishment into question. You know what I mean? Smile

yea that's what i've been thinking. Acutally what happened at my school is that this kid who's saludatorian got caught cheating on a test. I heard from some other people that he cheats a good bit. That makes me mad b/c then he doesn't deserve to be 2nd. I'm actually 3rd and really close behind him so I kinda think he should be disqualified. I don't think it's fair to let some1 who cheated "represent" us at graduation....Neways, just wanted to see what others thought. I have no idea what my school's gonna decide though. I have a feeling he won't get punished much.

Cheating Empty
PostSubject: Re: Cheating   Cheating EmptyMon Mar 23, 2009 2:18 am

I'm on the fence on this one. Have never cheated myself but blanked once in an exam and had to leave even though I knew I should have been able to do the exam with my eyes closed.

Scary experience.

On the whole cheating thing, know some people who were tempted, not because they didn't know their stuff but just because they panicked. It nearly destroyed them. So really each circumstance has to be taken on its own merit. Exam pressure is a dreadful thing. Exams should be a test of ability, not endurance.

We all know those who just could not be arsed and the others who panic under pressure. More often than not its those who panic who are caught. The real assholes are too slippery to get caught.

Oh believe me this kid doesn't panic. I just learned he's done this be4 and just now got caught....and personally i am glad he did. even if the school inexplicably allows him to still b 2nd most people will know bout the cheating.
