Neela and Ray's first time -speculation/ beware spoilers

As we wait to find out what the fate of our beloved Reela, I was thinking we could discuss how we would want their "first time" together to play out. Now I am not talking about posting NC-17 descriptions/play-by-plays here (save that for fanfic.com) but rather to just share ideas.

Personally I think as someone already posted, that they should not make love untill Neela has fought for Ray and declared her true love to him (Ray has already done so). Once that has happened and Ray is convinced that Neela is indeed for real this time here are some ideas as to what I would like to see happen.

Though it may not be said out in the open as to whether or not Ray and this "woman at the gym" end up having sex, I think it would be beautiful if this time around, Ray would not be so quick to jump into bed with woman. I mean though he has for the most part accepted his physical circumstances where his legs are concerned, I think it would be very realistic and would further showcase Ray's growing maturity if he would be nervous and lack some confidence where being physically intimate with a woman again is concerned. That being said, if Ray indeed is not wanting to rush things this time around but rather wanting to get to know a woman a whole lot more before taking the relationship to that level, I would love for Neela to have gone to him, fought for him and declared her love for him before anything of sexual nature can transpire between Ray and this other woman.

Going with that idea; I would love to have Ray admit to Neela that he hasn't been with a woman since before his accident and that he is nervous. Neela would respond by saying that they can take things as slow as he needs and that all she wants is for them to be together. She can proceed to assure Ray that despite his disabilityt that she is very attracted and turned on by him and that she is in love with the man first and foremost and the body second. It would be so beautiful to have Neela really show him just how much she loves him by lovingly seducing him and helping him to gain his confidence back. Once she has done this; Ray will have the inner strength and renewed confidence to make love to his true love Neela and together they would make a night that is truely to remember.

I really like your thinking, Sem. I agree that even though he is gaining confidence with his disability, the intimacy of being with a woman again is at a whole other level. I love the idea of Neela being the first (and last!) woman he is with since the accident. And I hope Neela holds out until then as well!

I look forward to their meeting again, but you know, the writers could pull a fast one of us and sign shane up for another episode before the end, if the ratings went sky high, i'm sure they've thought about it and the spoilers dont provide you with everything...however i agree, i want to find out that he hasnt been with anyone else that he's been lacking confidence in that area and let neela help him with that, altho she has no problem with getting down and dirty like she did with brenner, EW! i dont want their first time to be purely on sexual attraction, i want it to be love..the one thing i do NOT want is for there to be a wedding for that girl that ray supposively is seeing and neela breaks it up ,i dont want that, that pretty much just kills a reela wedding right there, thats just one of my fears, i doubt it'd happen but hey, it bothers me, i just want plenty of time in the next apperance or appearances to give the former roomies enough time to finally get it all out, finally hear what we've been wanting to hear from neela and hey, i'd even love to hear ray say to neela, i love you..but neela first..i just dont want there to be a wedding that isnt for reela..however if shane's appearance is postive, it better be...they said reela fans would be satifised, hmm, well if they said we'd love it then that pretty much just gives it away right there eh?

I don't think that they would have Ray being the type to being going out with someone for a while and then planning on getting married.

We've seen that they cut things from spoilers...maybe after seeing how well recieved Reela was, they'll not have anything about Ray going to someone else's place like it says for one of the episodes...I'm not sure which.

Anyway, i hope that happens...that Ray and Neela just get together some way thats good...just by neela going and telling him she loves him....nice and simple.

Though I know the chances are pretty slim that Shane would come back for more than two episodes total, it would certainly be the best gift they could give Reela fans aside from having Neela choose Ray and Reela ending up together in the end.

I also don't want Ray to get engaged to this "other woman" and then have Neela breaking up the wedding. That is such a cliched plotline and one I hope the writers do not go with. Besides it would be completely unrealistic for Ray to fall in love with this woman and propose to her in such a short period of time. JMO.

The ideal thing would be for there to be one episode that almost solely on Reela. They did this with Mark/Doug when they drove out to California as well as with Dr. Benton when he took that temporary job down south to help pay for his son't day care. I think with last week's ratings and all the support that Reela has been given, that it would definately be a smart move on TPTB's part to do so where Ray and Neela's story is concerned. This would be especially important if we indeed are only going to get one more episode with Shane/Ray in it before the end of the season/series.

I couldn't agree more Sammy. We need a proper payoff for Ray and Neela. One where Neela goes to Ray and fights for him and tells him she honestly loves him. Though somethings were touched upon in "Haunted" in regards to their past, maybe now the focus needs to be on their future. Neela needs to come to a crossroads where her career is concerned as I believe that will play a role in Neela deciding to leave County and start over in a new city and new hospital and in turn how this "major move" will inspire Neela to also finally to have the courage to go after what/who she honestly wants in her personal life.

In keeping with Ray's first words to Neela in "Haunted" being "Hi Roomie", I think it would be great for Ray to say to Neela in the end, "Welcome home Roomie" because "home is definately where the heart is" and it's time Neela finally "goes home" to Ray.
