Let's share our ideas...wishes...hopes................

I was thinking while we wait for October 30th to come, it would be fun to come up with different scenarios of how our favorite roomies will come together in the end. I truely hope that it is Neela going to Baton Rouge because Ray will have already visited Chicago and it will be apparent that he has a new life in Baton Rouge.

No one wants to start huh? Ok; I guess I'll have to then.

IDEA
-Neela is up for a promotion but loses out to Crenshaw. She takes it as a further sign that it is time for her to move on. She feels she needs to move on in regards to her career as well as her personal life and if she doesn't take the leap now; she may never do it. She talks to Dubenko about it who tries to talk her out of it; especially because she doesn't have another job lined up as of yet. Neela explains to him that she is not worried about finding another job and that right now what she needs to focus on is her personal life. She is tired of coming home night after night to an empty apartment and deep down she knows that there is only one man she wants to come home to every night and that is Ray. The problem is that he has been seeing someone else for almost two months and her chance to tell him the truth about her feelings for him is slowly slipping away. It's now or never. She packs a bag and buys a one-way plane ticket to Baton Rouge. She doesn't know how long it will take to convince Ray that they are meant to be together but she is willing to do whatever it takes; for as long as it takes to prove to Ray that she does truly love him and he is the only man she wants to be with.

Ok people; I've started the ball rolling. Will someone PLEASE join in and share their ideas? I know I'm not the only one who has them.

Hey Sem! Very interesting thread you started here. I'll have to take some time and think about it before I post anything more. There are just so many possibilities on how this story can end.

Just a quick note to bring to your attention, however. I doubt Neela would be motivated to leave based on getting a promotion. She's only a 3rd year surgical resident. She has 3 more years to go before she can get any type of promotions(i.e. Attending, Chief Resident). Unlike Neela, Crenshaw is a senior resident(Chief Resident), so it is impossible for Neela to be even competing against him for a promotion this early in her residency. Just wanted to let you know that. Thanks for starting the thread and keeping the board busy Sem!

Thanks G! I'm still a novice I guess when it comes to understanding the steps one takes in becoming a full-fledged physician and it becomes even more confusing when it comes to individual specialties.

I was just trying to think of a further catalyst to push Neela towards the decision to move on. Of course Ray getting involved with another woman should be enough for the lightbulb to go off in her head and make her realize the door of opportunity to declare her true love to Ray is closing fast.

I'll look forward to reading your ideas. I hope other join in on the thread as well.

That is what I want to be the catalyst to make Neela decide to fight for Ray. Finding out he is involved with another woman and is serious enough about her to go with this woman to her family's Thanksgiving dinner. I want her to fight for him and show him that he is the one she wants.

He has always been the one to show her that he wants to be with her. This time it has to be Neela who comes to him and tells him that she wants to be with him. She has to fight for him for a change.

I agree Sem. Neela needs to go to BR and tell Ray, "I LOVE U AND I WILL DIE IF I AM NOT WITH U." Any other ending won't be good.

It could be so easy for the show to have Neela visit Ray in Baton Rouge because they are already in a warm climate out in California and all with what they can do with sets these days I can see them being able to reconstruct a little French/southern scenery. I'm thinking that's what they did in Season 5 when Dr. Benton supposedly went down south to help out at a rural town clinic. I don't believe they actually shot those scenes in Alabama or Mississippi or whereever it was he went to.

Another thing I would love to see is Ray living in his own place and no longer with his Mom. I think it would be great to see him have bought an old house out of the city that he is renevating when he's not working. Something about seeing Shane/Ray shirtless with a sweat glistening on his chest puts a big smile on my face. It would be perfect becauase it would further showcase how Ray has really matured and his priorities will have changed and matured as well. Ausiellio's article did state that Ray is stronger and knows what he wants so why not have him move on from the apartment lifestyle and invest in his future by getting a house. Now some may say how could he afford to buy a house with not having been able to work for a year but there are a number of ways one can get money and who knows exactly what he was all doing during his rehab. Also if it is an old house in need of repair rather than a brand new one he could have gotten it for a really good price. It's just a thought but the idea of Neela moving down to Baton Rouge to be with Ray and them renevating their home together also brings a smile to my face.
