Maura Tierney returns to primetime TV: Parenthood pilot

When does this start? I've always like Maura...I need something new and what better way to get into a show with one of ER's cast members.

Now if they could just get Shane and Mindi to costar as the best friends, and Scott Grimes as the pesky but lovable neighbor, I'd be all over that show!!

I agree but I think I'll give this one a try, Maura was always good, I got a huge kick out of her in baby mama, so why not?

I am so wanting to know when to expect this to air, I'm def giving this a shot, just like I am southland tonight...We'll see if its really good like SW said it was lol

That would be such a great show and I'm sure they'd get even more viewers...well atleast us Roomie fans would watch. lol

NBC delays 'Parenthood' following Maura Tierney's illness

NBC has pushed the debut of its new drama series Parenthood from Sept. 23 to sometime midseason (typically November to February) due to an unspecified medical matter involving star Maura Tierney, 44, according to a statement NBC released July 10. The show, which is based on the 1989 movie starring Steve Martin, was scheduled to begin production on July 27, but its start date has been pushed back eight weeks due to a "medical evaluation that Tierney is undergoing."

Parenthood depicts the relationship between four siblings (Tierney, Peter Krause, Erika Christensen, and Dax Shepard) and their parents (Craig T. Nelson and Bonnie Bedelia). The new medical drama Mercy will take Parenthood's spot this fall.

NBC would not comment on the nature of Tierney's illness. A rep for the ER actress had no comment.

Maura Tierney has revealed that she has found a tumor in her breast, following weekend reports that the illness has pushed back the premiere of her new NBC fall drama Parenthood.

"In an effort to guard my privacy, it seems that the wording of NBC's press release has unfortunately caused some confusion and undue alarm about my health. I have discovered a tumor in my breast which requires surgery," Tierney, 44, tells Usmagazine.com in a statement.

"I will not know either my exact diagnosis or course of treatment until that surgery is performed. My doctors have all assured me this is a very treatable condition," she goes on.

Adds the actress, "I'm very optimistic as to the outcome and want to thank everyone who has sent positive thoughts and support. I look forward to going back to work soon."
