That's good their getting a lot of the old alumni to come back. Too bad they couldn't get Hathaway to come back too. I just hope they don't mess up her and Doug, I don't think they would that would make a lot of old viewers upset.

Well thats great except, you know, it'd be better if Carol could join him but too bad she declined a return back for her character.

I bet he's part of the old man coming into the ER flashback episode - which would mean he's there but they could deal with Carol not being there.

I bet that is it. He's most and likely in the flashback sequences for the scenes with the old man.

If he's showing up we are going to see ER promos for the final episodes left and right in the coming weeks. Their final ratings are going to be HUGE. Hmmmm...and I wonder if they leave it up in the air exactly what episode he's going to be in until the last minute to encourage folks to tune in.

EDIT: I'd love to see a flashback with the three amigos together (Ray/Abby/Neela) - that would be awesome.

Re filming things out of sequence, this is what I've been asking in regard to Shane's appearance.

Not only will George Clooney return as Dr. Doug Ross for one final episode of ER, he'll be joined by Julianna Margulies, who played love interest Nurse Carol Hathaway, Life & Style has learned.

The two will film their scenes tomorrow and Friday at the Warner Bros. set in LA.

A show insider tells Life & Style that the return of the two original cast members has caused quite a buzz on the set. "They are the last two of the original cast to make one last appearance," the insider says. "It's part of an effort to wrap up all of the original characters' story lines."

George and Julianna's episode is expected to air at the end of February during sweeps week, the insider tells Life & Style.

Whoa so Carol IS coming back?! She changed her mind apparently, that's great, it wouldnt be the same without carol

I just hope that this isn't the same episode as Shane's....that would totally overshadow it.

But it's great to see all of the originals coming back for the final season....sad cos it makes it so real though

I doubt it'll be for the reela second episode, why bother bringing shane back if its just going to squeeze him in and barely give him some air time in an episode, it's probably the last thursday of FEB or perhaps the couple first episodes in FEB but PLEASE dont let it be the 16th if its shane's appearance, they have plenty of episodes to do that for, just not that one.

Oh good!!! That's good they got Julianna to come back as well, I look forward to her scenes with George I always liked their characters together!!!

At the end of February? That should be episode 17. So Shane's next episode might be 16 then. But didn't one of the articles say that they wouldn't be filming George's scenes in order so that they could adapt to his schedule? I want the description for episode 16 NOW lol!!!

Yup but he'll want all focus to be on them and i'm thinking it'll be a different one.

How could it be for the beginning of the season if the article is dated January 22, 2009?

I was just asking because i saw some old mentions on there is all but if thats the case, thats great but i dont want luka back without any abby! or joe for that matter!

I think they are mentioning the Edwards episode because it will be airing again next Thursday.
